APP-Nurse Practitioner (CNP) or Physician's Assistant, PA

Our exceptional private practice seeks an NP or PA with critical care or nephrology experience to provide outstanding care to our patients, and thorough and timely service to our referring colleagues. If you enjoy working in collaboration with a team, this is a good fit for you!

We are a tight-knit group of three physicians and four NPs, looking for a fifth Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join us.  The APPs in our practice work closely with the physicians to manage our renal patients across a range of nephrology needs, from hypertension, acute and/or chronic kidney disease, to dialysis. Our APPs have a nice mix of inpatient care, rounding on our ESRD/ESKD patients in dialysis centers, our patients in rehab facilities, and some see office patients. They work closely with the physicians to optimize our patients’ wellbeing. We are proud to be the premier nephrology practice in the communities we serve in Cleveland’s eastern suburbs.

The APP candidate should possess these skills:

  • Demonstrate critical thinking and diagnostic reasoning skills in medical decision making while performing evaluation and management of the patients.

  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with the other members of the practice, along with the patients’ overall healthcare team.

  • Order appropriate laboratory tests or radiologic procedures, along with following up on the results.

  • Recommend consults as appropriate.

  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacological agents as well as non-pharmacologic therapies (no controlled substances.)

  • Document the plan of care, interventions and evaluations in a clear and concise manner in the patient’s medical record while following approved hospital and office policies and compliance standards for documentation.

  • Submit correct billing records with appropriate diagnosis codes on a daily basis to the practice. On the job training in billing and coding is provided.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION: Masters or doctoral degree, from an accredited nurse practitioner or physician assistant school/program.

LICENSURE: Nationally certified and licensed (or soon will be) as a Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant by the State of Ohio Board of Nursing (NP) or Board of Medicine (PA).

EXPERIENCE: 3 years as an RN or APP with critical care (ICU/ER) or nephrology experience.

JOB TYPE: Full Time, Monday- Friday and 26 weekend days a year, and two Federal holidays a year in rotation with the other APPs.
